BODYWEATHER

Body Weather: Open Training

Sessions at Dancehouse  on Tuesday evenings. 6pm to 8pm throughout the year
‘Body Weather’ is a physical training method and philosophy developed by Japanese dancer Min Tanaka. Gretel Taylor has continued to evolve a practice informed by Tanaka’s Body Weather for 20 years. Open Training sessions consist of a curious, loosening warm-up; an hour ‘MB’ work-out (Mind-Body, Muscle-Bone); and imaginative and sensory activities leading into improvisation. The training is beneficial for all kinds of performers and anyone looking to strengthen and tune their bodies and expand physical range and qualities of movement. Basic fitness recommended.

"We acknowledge that we live, work and create on the lands and waters of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people. We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands and their continuing connection to the land and waters surrounding us. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
We acknowledge that generations of First Nations people have danced, performed and told story here for over sixty thousand years and these rich customs and traditions continue in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture today."
